Manuel and Rogelia with their son Jnr spent decades building Illawarra Truck Repairs and Spares into the premier heavy haulage repair business in the Illawarra. In those early days, the work was never ending, the days and weekends were very long, time their with family was rare and the work was physically exhausting and often dangerous.
Eventually the hard work and determination paid off and ITRS came to service some of the most well-known transport businesses in the region from their purpose-built facilities at Unanderra. Not only did they build a successful business for their families, but they gave back to the community in spades through their charitable efforts with the likes of the i98 Convoy.
But after four decades at the helm of the business, it was time for Manuel and Rogelia to transition into retirement. However, like many business owners, they faced a significant question: how could they hand over the reins in the most efficient way possible, ensuring continuity for their loyal customer base and continued success for their son Jnr and his family?
We collaborated closely with their family to develop a clear succession strategy. This strategy aimed to protect the legacy they had created, provide financial certainty for their future, and support the next generation as they stepped into the leadership of the business.
